Founded in 1983 by a veteran mining engineer / mine manager to provide permit management and engineering support for the minerals industry. By 1986 Shiningtree was considered the foremost mine permit makers in Northern California.

Our client base includes precious metals, construction aggregates, industrial minerals, base metals, lignite, water, and wastewater utilites.

Our chief expertise lies in simplifying and expediting the permit process while minimizing cost. We offer complete management of the permit process. As former mine management, we understand the minerals business and know what an operator can tolerate in the way of project conditioning. With an ear to regional political conditions as well as permitting law, coupled with extensive permitting experience, we have developed proven permit strategies, not theories.

Our ability to model air, water, and noise impacts of mining serves to quickly prepare an applicant's entry into fast track permitting. These in-house skills also enable us to follow up permitting with compliance monitoring. Our firm houses a registered geologist, minerals engineer, registered forester, registered environmental assessor, botanist, chemist, and land planner. We also maintain a certified water treatment and distribution operator.

A number of our projects have received state-wide awards for mine reclamation excellence.
